Mulch Chair
September 10, 2009 by Robin Plaskoff Horton
Craig Ian MacPherson, a graduate of the Edinburgh College of Art, is exhibiting his work ‘Mulch Chair’ Sep 24 – 27 at Designersblock London. The chair, part of The Outcast collection, is about reusing garden waste to create garden furniture. The idea of reusing, reducing and recycling was a big theme within the project, and he wanted to show that recycled items do not need to be constrained in design or style. He has tried to use the most sustainable bonding material as possible by using latex, which also gives pieces a rubber cushioned feel.
Designersblock London 2009 takes place during the London Design Festival over 5000 square meters of space alongside 100% Design in Earls Court One, London, Sep 24 – 27, 2009
Register on the Designersblock website before Thursday 17th September for free entry information.
