June 22, 2009 by Robin Plaskoff Horton
If you don’t have a pot to…sit in…here’s one from Casamania. If you don’t have room in your garden for a pottin’ shed, then at 143.5cm wide x 160cm deep x 160cm high for the smallest model, you may not have room either for this witty Pot’n Chair by designer Fabio Novembre, but you have to appreciate the smiles it inspires! Available in white, cement grey, and brick red.

The Swiss design team of StauffacherBenz has a keen sense of form and humor. About the similarities between design and gardening, the team says, “There are many similarities between working in the garden and working as a designer: Passion, endurance and patience characterize gardeners as well as designers. Much work, love and creativity are required to stimulate the tender souls in the garden and studio to achieve their best.” They took the common watering can and sprouted its spout.
Some Work, All Play
Relax! Is it a person lying in a planter…or a planter lying as a person? The outline of a relaxed person, explain the designers, lying in the grass evokes memories of a weekend out in the countryside. Midweek it serves as a parking space for the city dweller’s stressed soul. Designed to raise a smile in a public or private place. By StauffacherBenz, available at Eternit’s DesignShop.
