With 110 transparent plastic food containers filled with leaves, branches, and a lighting source, “Packaged Vertical Gardens” climb the walls in Madrid, an urban vertical garden installation as commentary on the scarcity of available public green space.

In seeking to promote the preservation of urban green areas, the artists, Luzinterruptus, contend that most vertical gardens are inaccessible and offer no more than the beautification of an otherwise cold and inhospitable environment.

Though it’s thought provoking, I’m not exactly sure why they don’t instead start a great campaign to green Madrid.
