Dutch Artists Plant Public Mobile Vertical Gardens

A group of Dutch artists have made Amsterdam a little greener with the launch in March of the Mobile Gardens, an initiative to promote vertical gardening with citizens of Amsterdam New West.
The mobile garden project, created by artists Jair Straschnow and Fiona de Bell, is one of many public collaborations led by Cascoland, an international network of artists, architects, designers and performers who initiate interdisciplinary interventions in public spaces.
The initiative galvanizes public interest in gardening public spaces while bringing together a community.
Cascoland’s mission is to create awareness, in a positive and creative way, about the use and design of public space.
In the process, Cascoland also hopes to promote international networking through exchange and collaboration.

the concept is great but the execution? the cages could be so more interesting – do we have to wait for the gardens to grow before it looks good
