Modern Classic Garden Hoop Chair
July 21, 2010 by Robin Plaskoff Horton
I love these classic mid-century hoop chairs. (Really, it’s just a coincidence that they go so well with this blog’s color scheme.) Similar in style to the iconic Acapulco chair, this one is a combo of style and comfort made from zinc-coated steel frames with a powder-coated finish and long-lasting vinyl cording. If you live in an area that experiences extreme weather, it’s a good idea to protect them from the elements during the winter. This chair is made to order with an approximate lead time of 4 weeks. Check them out at Potted, a very cool shop in Los Angeles run by Mary Gray and Annette Goliti Gutierrez, aka “The Garden Tarts” whom I had the pleasure of meeting at last November’s Garden Writers Association (now GardenComm) meeting in Malibu, California.
31″dia x 28.50″h.
Shown in Walnut/Lime. Also available in Adobe/Sand, Black/Black, White/Black, and White/Orange.
You can find similar-style Acapulco chairs here. And check out this cool vintage metal one.

They’re actually super comfortable and when they get hot, they don’t burn your butt…something I always look for in a garden chair.
