Woven Garden Chairs Offer Color and Texture
October 7, 2010 by Robin Plaskoff Horton
Since I like to shop local, I am particularly drawn to Brooklyn designer Jessica Carnivale’s debut line of colorful woven outdoor chairs, aptly named Stretch.
Carnivale experimented with a number of different materials and chose latex, bungee and rope for their bright colors and elasticity. The chairs, which come in three different weaves, are built by Jessica in her Brooklyn studio. The designer explains that she “wanted to bring some of the exuberance of the fashion world into the designs.”
Available in pink, green, and white. Size: w 45cm, d 53cm, h79cm with seat height 46cm. Limited editions available in the US through ABC Home, and in Europe through Outdoorz Gallery.

And love your comment on the 100 Thing Challenge – yep, it’s about trying to cut down your belongings to just 100 things. Hmm…not sure how close I’ll get…but you’re right…when it all fits in a bag, talk about FREEdom!
