Culinary Herb Barn Raising

March 7, 2011 by

Soup’s on. Now snip a few culinary herbs from your ECOGRO Herb Barn and toss ’em in.

“My love of gardening and plants in general coupled with my craft was the inspiration for ECOGRO,” says the designer, W.A. Francis, who worked for 30 years in the building industry as a finish carpenter. “I became acutely aware of the waste and mismanagement of lumber and wood products,” explains Francis. “I resigned myself to do what I could with a home based recycling project. Each of my creations utilizes lumber reclaimed from demolition and salvage operations.”

The ECOGRO Herb Barn is crafted of 100% reclaimed barn wood and pine lumber. Makes a nice environment for seed starting and for the many culinary herbs, vegetables, and house plants which will do well under its included adjustable T12 cool fluorescent lamp. The front panel drops down for easy access, while the top is easy to remove from the base, making plant care and maintenance easy as…growing herbs.

Measures 31″wide x 21″deep x 25″high. $475 from ECOGRO.

Agree it’s price point is a bit high, but I suppose a lot of time and love goes into building this piece, you can see it’s very beautifully crafted.

Yes, it’s beautifully hand crafted, almost a piece of art, therefore the price. Thanks for your nice feedback!
