Park Bench for Schmoozing or Snoozing
September 26, 2011 by Robin Plaskoff Horton
To-gather is a double-sided asymmetrical park bench designed to encourage communication and conversation among people in city environments. Designed by Minsung Lee, a recent graduate of London Metropolitan University, the bench also allows one to simply relax–one side of the bench is a chaise longue, perfect for lounging or napping–all good as long as no one gets nabbed for loitering in a public park!
Nonetheless, I like the possibilities. What do you think?

Great design for a private garden or a fenced community garden. I’d like one myself! But this would not fly in any urban public park since it would be ideal for, well – let’s say, adult play equipment. In NYC, iron round dividers with a crisscross piece prevents nappers from taking over World Fair benches.

I love this idea. The bench itself encourages “community.” But probably better for a private space or school, just in case…
