Pull Up a Planter, Have a Seat

Swedish designer, Louise Hederström, brings nature to the city with her multipurpose planter and garden seating inspired by a willow tree.
Willow, which would be suitable indoors or outdoors, has one large opening at the top with containers that “branch” out from the sides of its compact main base or “trunk.”
Tall plants can shoot upwards from the top, suggests the designer, while vines and creepers grown in the side containers can trail down to the floor. Fill all three pots or turn the planter into seating with the addition of a oiled oak or richly-hued birch disc.

I grew some golden chard this year, which is looking great, and is the one thing to have evaded the marauding armies of slugsâ?¦but I picked some for the first time a couple of days ago and it tasted VERY bitter â?? even with copious amounts of olive oil, butter and salt it had an unpleasant tang. Iâ??ve had chard plenty of times before and not had this problem â?? could the bitterness have been made worse by the weather conditions this year?
