Sun Shade in a Snap
January 28, 2013 by Robin Plaskoff Horton
Mikasi in Swahili means scissors, which is descriptive of the Mikasi Sunscreen Tent’s design. The Sunscreen tent is both a stylish teepee for the nomadic urban wanderer and a shaded temporary backyard retreat for those who choose to stick around.
A series of connected ash wood cross bars form a flexible skeleton frame that sets up easily with just one hand.
Twelve durable Tyvek hanging drapes snap together and apart over the frame, providing either complete or partial sun protection and shelter from breezes depending how many remain open.
Sit inside and gaze up at the sky, pretending you are somewhere else. And after the sun sets, why not bring a solar light inside and glamp out in your backyard?
