You may not get your kids to eat their veggies, but you may get them to eat with their veggies. No, the knives above are not edible. They are part of a collection of biodegradable utensils inspired by their veggie look alikes. We’re talking sustainably designed tableware that includes a leek knife, celery shaped fork, and a spoon resembling a carrot.

Graft is whimsical eco-friendly tableware based on the shapes and colors of common vegetables. An idea cultivated by designer Qiyun Deng’s studies at École cantonale d’art de Lausanne in Switzerland, the crisp freshness of this series feeds my creativity.

Biodegradable Bioplastic
The designer studied each plant carefully before reincarnating it as a utensil. These cutlery pieces don’t just look like plants, they feel like them too. Deng recreated the texture of the real thing by using a biodegradable polymer “bioplastic” sourced from the very plants they model. Design savvy gardeners might enjoy bringing their harvest to the table in more ways than one.

This cutlery collection that appears to have been harvested from the soil. Cuts it for me. Now go eat with your veggies.

    That’s a
great innovative idea that you have suggested here to make your kids eat
their meals in time. Thhese utencils are great looking and will be of great
importance in the homedecor aswell. The cute colour combinations they have
used is awesome and will do wonders to the kitchen.
